How to decorate a Wedding
Organizer
Every bride needs a
file to organize the many notes and receipts accumulated for the wedding. Decorate a plain accordion file with some beautiful fabric.
Materials
small amount of quilt
batting
Tacky Glue
1/2 yard of fabric
(matching your wedding colors or theme)
1
Paperboard Accordion File
1/4 yd of fusible webbing
1 yard of 7/8" wide
satin ribbon (co-ordinate with your wedding colors) Instructions
1. Glue the batting to
the front and back of the accordion file up to 3/4" from the edges.
This gap will allow you to glue the fabric directly to the file later.
2. Place
the fabric on the file, centering the design on the front. Measure from edge
to edge over the batting, then add a 1" seam allowance all the way
around. Trim the fabric to this measurement.
3. Turn in and press the
1" seam allowance. Secure it with fusible webbing. Glue along the
3/4" gap at the edge of the file. Place the fabric on the glue,
pressing it down firmly to hold. It is best to glue one section at a time.
4. Cut the ribbon in
half and glue one end under the top flap and another under the bottom of the
file so you can tie a bow to close it.
