Here is wonderful creative keepsake for your guests! Great for anniversary parties too.

This favor is quick and easy to make and will be treasured by all that receive one.
What you will need to complete this project:

  • Photograph of you and your intended Kraft-coloured shipping tag measuring approximately 4 ¾” long and 2 ½” wide Gluestick Scissors Small piece of black paper Printed sentiment Rubber Stamp Pads in wheat and sand colours (I used Memories Dye inks) Cosmetic sponges
  • Organza ribbon (or ribbon of your choice) in ivory – approximately 1 foot

The photo used in this sample was a wallet-sized photo from a free portrait sitting.

Reproducing your portrait “in vintage style” can be accomplished in a variety of ways. If you photocopy your image in black and white and it is to your satisfaction, go with it! If you desire better quality, scan the photo into your computer and use photo-editing software. In order to fit the shipping tag, I made sure the photo was no wider than 2”.Tile the photos on the page, or copy and paste multiple versions of the photo on the page.

To print the photos, you may use a laser printer and print the page in black and white. To antique the black and white photocopy or print, use a cosmetic sponge to rub rubber stamp ink over the surface of the copy. Add more of the darker colour particularly around the edges of the photo.

Some photo-editing programs will allow you to change the colours of your photographs to sepia. You may wish to try this and use your colour printer.

Carefully tear each of the photos from the page.

Rub the darker rubber stamp ink along the edges of the tag on both the back and the front.

Glue the photo in position on the tag.

Type out your sentiment for the back of the tag and copy it a number of times onto the page. You may use an elegant typeface or if you’re really into the vintage look, use any number of old-typewriter style typefaces available as free downloads on the internet. Print out your sentiment.

By cutting out your sentiment, you provide a nice contrast to the torn photo. Mounting it on a black panel gives it a bit of formality. Cut a black panel slightly larger than your sentiment. Glue the sentiment onto the black panel and then glue the panel onto the tag.

Cut approximately one foot of ribbon and tie it on your tag! Voilà! A fabulous wedding favour!

Go ahead and add some lace to your tag or glue on buttons. Try printing your sentiment and photo on linen-textured paper. Attach the tag to other wedding favour. Whatever your whim. It’s your day! Congratulations!
