Heritage photos are showcased beautifully in this quick and easy to create layout. Xyron adhesive makes to easy to apply torn paper and photos to the page. A folded Paper Reflections Creative Tag adds an extra area for journaling.

Materials

• Xyron® 900 Machine
• Xyron® Glue Tape
• DMD Paper Reflections Creative Tag, Cream, Large
• DMD Paper Reflections Cardstock, Black, 12-inch x 12-inch, 2 sheets
• DMD Paper Reflections Cardstock, Ivory, 12-inch x 12-inch, 1 sheets
• Vintage Text Paper, 12-inch x 12-inch, 1 sheets
• Copies of Heritage Photos, 2 (4x6 or 5x7)
• Buttons, Decorative, Ivory, 3/8-inch, 13
• Scissors
• Computer and Printer (For Journaling)
• Black Marker, optional

Instructions

1. Make color copies of the heritage photos. NEVER use originals of heritage photos. If decorative plate is on the back of the photo, make a copy of it to use for the photo journaling tag, otherwise, use text themed paper, or paper created with a computer and printer.

2. Crop the photos as desired. Tip: Keep worn or torn edges on the photos to add authenticity, or cut a mat of black cardstock, then tear the bottom edge. Mat photos with black cardstock if needed.

3. Crop Ľ-inch from each side of the vintage text paper. Tear a diagonal piece from the center of the paper as shown in the photo. Discard the torn center section. Apply Xyron adhesive to the left and right halves of the paper. Apply the left side, then one photo. Apply the right side of the torn paper, overlapping the edge of the photo.

4. Apply the remaining photo and mat to the right side of the page.

5. Create a journaling block with text on ivory cardstock for the upper right side of the page using a computer and printer, or a black marker. Create smaller journaling blocks with the individual's name and date, if known. Trim to desired size.

6. Rub the journaling blocks with brown chalk to age them. Apply Xyron adhesive, then apply the journaling blocks to the page as shown.

7. Fold that tag in half so that the notched side of the tag is to the back of the tag. Apply a photo copy to the tag, or other decorative paper or design. Create a journaling block on ivory cardstock for the inside of the tag, using a computer and printer, or a black marker. Tip: Add the subject's date of birth, death and other pertinent information.

8. Apply the journaling block to the inside of the tag. Rub brown decorating chalk inside the tag to age it. Apply the tag to the page as shown in the photo.

9. Trim the shanks from the buttons with wire cutters. Apply a button inside the tag. Apply three buttons at each corner of the page.

Tip: Apply dimensional buttons to the page with Xyron Glue Tape. Touch the button several times to the glue tape to transfer layers of adhesive. Use photo as a guide and follow manufacturer's instructions for all products used.
