Materials

Make a custom design pillow to match your room decor with a help of your Xyron

- Xyron® machine (510, 850, 900, or 1200)
- Xyron® Permanent Adhesive cartridge
- 14" square pillow form
- Fabrics – 1/4 yard each:
midnight blue w/periwinkle stars
midnight blue, navy and periwinkle plaid
gold sunflower pattern
- Scissors
- Navy thread
- Buttons

Instructions

1. Measure and cut one 15" x 15" piece of fabric from blue/stars fabric, and one from plaid fabric. Lay pieces back to back. Iron if necessary.
2. Cut 28 strips from gold fabric. (Strips should measure 1" x 3"), and 13 strips from plaid fabric.
3. Arrange strips between fabric pieces along 3 edges so printed sides of strips lay toward starred fabric panel, and pin. Sew 1/2" in from edges along 3 sides. Fold 1/2" of fabric edge over along open side, then iron. Repeat for both pieces of fabric along open side. Arrange strips along this side and pin. Sew strips on 1/4" from edge. (DO NOT sew the opening shut yet – just attach strips at this point). Turn panels right-side out.
4. Trace and cut out star patterns. Run each through the Xyron machine with Permanent Adhesive, then adhere to pillow. Hand stitch buttons onto star pieces.
5. Sandwich pillow form between sewn pieces, then hand stitch open edge closed.

TIP: If the buttons are not too thick (less than 1/10 of an inch), you can run them through the Xyron® machine (850, 900, or 1200) without having to stitch them.
