This creative layout includes torn paper collage and a photocopy of a handwritten inscription on the back of the photo.

Materials

• Xyron® 900 Machine
• Xyron^® Acid Free Adhesive Cartridge
• Pioneer^® E-Z Load^® Memory Book Page, 12 x 12, White, 1
• Cardstock, black, 8-˝ x 11,2 sheets
• Cardstock, brown, 8-˝ x 11, 1 sheet
• Cardstock, tan, 8-˝ x 11,1 sheets
• Paper, cream print, 8-˝ x 11
• Vellum, white, 8-˝ x 11, 1 sheet
• Black and white photos or photocopies, 2
• Vintage button or charm
• Craft Foam
• Scissors
• Computer and Printer (For Journaling)

Instructions

1. Make a copy of the photo and handwritten inscription. Crop each to the desired size

2. Lay the photos on the black cardstock. Overlap the inscription at the bottom right of the photo.

3.  Tear away the excess cardstock, leaving a 3/8 to ˝ inch border all around.

4.  Lay the black cardstock on the brown cardstock, then tear two ivory print paper strips to place at the bottom and right sides of the black mat.

5.  Cut a 3 x 11 inch piece of tan cardstock for the journaling mat.

6.  Apply Xyron adhesive to the tan and brown papers, the black mat, the photos, and the ivory print strip

7. Apply the tan strip 3/8 inch way from the top, bottom and right side of the E-Z Load Memory Book page. Apply the brown cardstock to the page, leaving a 3/8 inch border at the left, top and bottom of the E-Z Load Memory Book page

8.  Apply the photos to the black mat, then apply the mat to the brown cardstock. Apply the ivory paper strips at the bottom and right sides of brown mat.

9.  Apply Xyron adhesive to both sides of a small piece of craft foam. Use the foam to apply the vintage charm to the bottom right of the photo.

10. Using a computer and printer, create a vellum journaling column the same size as the tan strip. Print the column, and then trim it to fit the tan strip. Apply Xyron adhesive to the vellum, then apply it over the tan strip.

Tip: The inscriptions on the back of a photo can add real significance to the story of the photo. Scan or photocopy the handwritten inscriptions onto photo paper, then incorporate them into your page layout.
