Cleaning Artificial
Flowers-Silks can be sloshed around in warm, sudsy water in
the bathtub or sink, and they can be damp dusted. But, the easiest way to
clean silks (and dried flowers) is with an ozone safe aerosol spray for
silks flowers. They are inexpensive, and they restore color as
well. For dry flower use this aerosol spray. To restore grapevine wreaths and garlands use Wicker Wonder.
Paper flowers can be dusted with a feather duster
or blown with a hair dryer on a low setting. Paper flowers can be reshaped
by lightly steaming them with a travel iron or a steam iron on the lowest
setting for steam.

Shopping for Materials

If you can’t find the particular kinds of
greenery or flowers that are called for in material lists in a project or a
floral design book,
substitute with similar foliage or flowers. If the project has round leaves,
another plant with similar round leaves will look just as beautiful in your
arrangement. If the colors in your room are different from the ones in the
project, use the colors of your choice.

The instructions are guidelines.
They get you started, and teach you the techniques, so you can gain
confidence to try arrangements on your own.
